Job summary

SelecSource in Athens, GA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform PM maintenance and repairs on the fleet of cars, trucks, and trailers at our facility.

The role offers a 40-hour work week, with a pay range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year. Candidates should have 2–4 years of experience, strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, and a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR. Owners with basic hand tools are welcome; company provides specialty tools.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience required.
• Excellent diagnostic and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Own basic hand tools; specialty tools are supplied by company.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repairs, air brakes repairs and trailer repairs.
• Must be able to obtain an alcohol permit.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM maintenance on companys fleet of vehicles.
• Operate diagnostic equipment (Cummins Insite, Cat ET, Allison Transmission).
• Ensure all safety standards and regulations are followed in the facility.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform PM maintenance on company s fleet of vehicles.
• Operate diagnostic equipment. (Cummins Insite, Cat ET, Allison Transmission)
• Ensure all safety standards and regulations are followed in the facility.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience required.
• Excellent diagnostic and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Having own basic hand tools, specialty tools are supplied by company.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Air brake knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repairs, air brakes repairs and trailer repairs.
• Ability to mount and dismount tires. (passenger cars and trucks)
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical and non-mechanical issues.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment. (Cummins Insite, Cat Et, Allison Transmission)
• Must be able to obtain an alcohol permit
• Must have a valid drivers license and clean MVR

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to physically perform repairs
• Up to 50lbs lifting requirements.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs.
