Job summary

Environmental Air Systems in High Point, NC is hiring a skilled overhead Crane Operator to join our manufacturing shop.

You will operate overhead cranes, perform safety checks, interpret load charts, and coordinate lifts with the team. This role offers full-time hours with a 6:00am-4:30pm schedule and opportunities for overtime.

Typical duties include equipment maintenance, training participation, and adhering to safety procedures in a dynamic, industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid crane operator certification or license.
• Experience operating overhead/industrial cranes in manufacturing or construction.
• Ability to interpret load charts and rigging diagrams.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials.
• Perform pre-operation crane checks for safe function.
• Read load charts and rigging diagrams for lifting.
• Coordinate with supervisors and riggers for safe lifts.
• Inspect slings and rigging hardware for defects.
• Monitor crane movements for stability and control.
• Communicate with ground crew to coordinate lifts safely.
• Assist with crane maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Attend training to improve crane operation and safety knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a skilled overhead Crane Operator to join our manufacturing shop in High Point, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of cranes, such as overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and components as needed.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on the crane and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Interpret load charts and rigging diagrams to determine load capacities, rigging configurations, and lifting procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations safely and efficiently.
• Inspect lifting attachments, slings, and rigging hardware for defects or damage before each lift and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Monitor crane operations closely to ensure safe and precise movement of loads, adjusting crane controls as needed to maintain stability and control.
• Communicate effectively with ground crew, spotters, and other personnel involved in lifting operations to coordinate movements and ensure safety.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of cranes and related equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments, to ensure optimal performance.
• Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to crane operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.

Education Requirements/Qualifications

• Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
• Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
• Valid crane operator certification or license.
• Proven experience as a crane operator in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load dynamics, and rigging techniques.
• Ability to interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and other technical documents.
