Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, trucks, and paving machinery. This role is essential in ensuring that Karvo’s fleet operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company schedules and manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Respond to on‑site service calls as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, operators, and other team members to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair (construction industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.

Pay

Expected base pay range for this position is $36–$47 per hour. Compensation decisions include a range of factors and are dependent on the circumstances of each applicant. The salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, and information regarding such will be provided as needed.
