Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on major NYC infrastructure and utility projects from mobilization through completion. The ideal candidate will be a true field leader who can understand complex jobsites, move the right people, and keep production on track.

Requirements include 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience, a background in utilities/underground work, and NJ heavy civil/public works exposure. OSHA 30 and safety experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through completion.

• Drive production, quality, safety, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, inspectors, owners, and subcontractors.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
• Plan manpower, equipment, sequencing, and means & methods.
• Identify field issues early and develop practical solutions.

A growing heavy civil contractor is looking for a Superintendent to lead field operations on major NYC infrastructure and utility projects.

We're looking for a true field leader — someone who can walk onto a complicated jobsite, understand what needs to happen, get the right people moving, and keep production on track.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through completion
• Manage foremen, subcontractors, crews, equipment, and site logistics
• Drive production, quality, safety, and schedule performance
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, inspectors, owners, and subcontractors
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules
• Plan manpower, equipment, sequencing, and means & methods
• Identify field issues early and develop practical solutions

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience
• Experience leading major projects $20M+
• Background in utilities, underground construction, excavation, transportation, water/sewer, or infrastructure
• Strong understanding of civil plans, specifications, scheduling, and field operations
• Proven ability to lead large crews and multiple subcontractors
• NJ heavy civil/public works experience strongly preferred
• OSHA 30 and NYC/site safety experience preferred
