Metric Geo in New York City is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on major water, sewer, and utility projects across NYC. This hands-on leadership role requires delivering complex urban infrastructure with strong safety, quality, and schedule discipline.

You'll manage foremen, crews, and subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and city agencies, read plans, develop short-term schedules, and navigate DEP requirements to keep projects

Qualifications

• 8+ years in heavy civil construction.
• Proven utility/water & sewer project leadership.
• NYC DEP project experience preferred.
• Experience with NYC agencies, inspectors, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation, trench safety, shoring, and site logistics.
• Experience managing crews and subs on complex urban projects.
• Ability to read/cinterpret civil/utility drawings and specifications.
• Strong scheduling, production, and field coordination skills.
• OSHA 30 and NYC public works/site safety experience preferred.
• Projects in the $20M-$80M+ range are a major plus.

• Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, excavation, trenching, bypass operations, and relocations.
• Maintain safety, quality, production, and schedule standards.
• Identify field issues and develop solutions to keep projects moving.

Lead the work. Own the field. Build critical NYC infrastructure.

An experienced & growing heavy civil contractor is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on major water, sewer, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout New York City.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands what it takes to deliver complex utility work in one of the most demanding construction environments in the country.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day field operations on major NYC utility projects
• Manage foremen, subcontractors, crews, equipment, and site logistics
• Coordinate installation and rehabilitation of water mains, sewer, stormwater, and underground utilities
• Work directly with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners
• Coordinate with NYC DEP and other city agencies throughout project execution
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, and utility drawings
• Develop short-term schedules and manage daily production
• Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, excavation, trenching, bypass operations, and utility relocations
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, production, and schedule
• Identify field issues quickly and develop solutions that keep the project moving

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience
• Proven experience leading utility / water & sewer projects
• NYC DEP project experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with NYC agencies, inspectors, engineers, and public stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation, trench safety, shoring, and site logistics
• Experience managing crews and subcontractors on complex urban projects
• Ability to read and interpret civil/utility drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, production, and field coordination
• OSHA 30 and NYC public works/site safety experience preferred
• Ability to manage projects in the $20M-$80M+ range is a major plus
