Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid to senior Structures Estimator based in Westlake, TX. You will develop accurate cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and marine structures, from concept budgeting through bid submission.

You will work with operations, engineering, preconstruction, and business development to craft competitive pricing, evaluate means and methods, and help drive pursuit success across the South Central District and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of estimating, project engineering, field engineering, or construction operations experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating structural scopes such as bridges, foundations, or transportation infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Proficient with estimating software and quantity takeoff platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates for heavy civil structures.
• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports, and contract documents for quantity takeoffs and bid strategies.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and supplier estimates.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor quotations, identify risks and VE opportunities.
• Perform constructability reviews, risk assessments, and cost analyses.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams on estimates and schedules.
• Support proposal development, estimate reviews, and project turnover.
