Job summary

Ames Construction is a leading heavy civil and industrial contractor with 60+ years of experience delivering infrastructure across the United States. We seek an Engineer to join our team to support projects such as highways, bridges, and utilities, gaining hands-on experience managing large-scale work on site.

You will assist Project Managers and Superintendents, review plans, track progress, and help maintain documentation while upholding our safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Internship or co‑op experience in construction preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of construction principles and project management fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Track project progress, prepare reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Support quality control and safety compliance on job sites.
• Assist in cost tracking, budgeting, and schedule updates.
• Participate in problem‑solving and provide technical support during construction activities.
