Job summary

Demathieu Bard is launching a new heavy civil construction operation in the DMV region (DC, MD, VA). As Project Engineer, you will help keep projects on schedule and within budget under the Project Manager's guidance.

You will monitor costs, manage subcontractors, review drawings, ensure quality and safety, and support scheduling and field teams with strong analytical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• EIT certification.
• 3+ years experience with a General Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
• Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track project performance.
• Update project schedule monthly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan; notify of significant schedule changes and develop solutions.
• Initiate and manage all RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using assigned cost coding to ensure financials are reported.
• Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
• Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
• Review required JHAs to ensure safe and compliant work environment.
