Job summary

Posillico Civil, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent on heavy civil infrastructure and transportation projects.

You will assist with safety, quality, planning, production, and financial tracking, prepare look-ahead schedules, manage daily records, and help coordinate subcontractors and suppliers. A B.S. in Civil/Mechanical/Construction or similar and 2–3 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or 4-year degree in Construction or Environmental Management with 2–3 years of related experience.
• Experience in Heavy Civil Construction (highways, roads, bridges, structures, support of excavation, cast-in-place and pile foundations, underground utility systems, site work; wastewater plants a plus).
• Capable of meeting deadlines, detail oriented, highly organized, excellent follow-through.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe/Bluebeam, Primavera P6, AutoCAD; Viewpoint, HeavyBid, and HeavyJob are a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Able to obtain TWIC, DBIDs, or other similar credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with safety, quality, planning, and production tracking.
• Manage weekly Toolbox Talks and safety huddles.
• Process Miss Utility mark-outs and ensure no utilities are damaged during construction.
• Maintain SSHASP and MSDS documents.
• Record and track incidents and injuries.
• Review monthly payment applications with PM and Superintendent.
• Submit monthly payment applications with subcontractor sheets to Accounting.
• Review material and supplier invoices and assist with cost projections.
• Set up Purchase Orders and Subcontracts; track major materials delivered vs. paid.
• Develop look-ahead schedules and monitor progress against CPM baseline.
• Enter daily quantities into HeavyJob and prepare work packages (plans, shop drawings, SDS, Miss Utility, as-builts).
• Attend meetings with Owner, Project Partners, and stakeholders.
• Review technical data and shop drawings for conformance.
• Maintain payroll data and Subcontractor daily logs; document project records.
