Job summary

Willmeng Construction, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for complex infrastructure projects in Arizona.

You will analyze blueprints, specs, and proposals to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, and equipment costs. You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, review subcontractor quotes, assess risks, and drive value engineering opportunities.

The Role

As a Heavy Civil Estimator at Willmeng, you play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for complex infrastructure projects. You analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, material, and equipment costs. By soliciting and reviewing subcontractor and vendor quotes, you ensure comprehensive scope coverage and value for every proposal. You assess project risks and work closely with project managers and engineers to develop strategies that position Willmeng for success. Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of heavy civil construction are essential, reflecting Willmeng’s commitment to quality, integrity, and teamwork.

What we would like you to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with 5–10 years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with alternative delivery projects such as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Design-Build is preferred, but not required.
• Brings proven experience in heavy civil construction—earthwork, concrete, and utilities.
• Analyzes project plans, specs, and costs to deliver accurate, competitive estimates.
• Leverages advanced estimating and project management software for precise bid preparation.
• Communicates clearly and collaborates seamlessly with project teams and clients.
• Maintains a meticulous, detail-driven approach to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness.
