JH Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our field crews across Central Texas. Ideal candidates will operate excavators, dozers, graders, and compaction equipment, reading plans to build to grade and specification.

Qualifications

1+ years of equipment operating experience in heavy civil/utility/road construction.
Ability to read civil plans, cross-sections, grading details.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment (excavator, dozer, motor grader, compactor, loader) safely on active job sites.
Perform earthwork, grading, and utility installation per plans/specifications.
Read and interpret civil construction plans and grading details.
Set elevations using rod and level, laser, or GPS/machine control to maintain grade.
Assist with base course installation and stabilization processes.
Perform daily pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members.
Follow all safety policies and site protocols.
