Job summary

RUTS Construction in Austin, TX is seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Equipment Operator to perform excavation, backfilling, and loading tasks. You will conduct daily equipment inspections and follow safety guidelines in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Five years of heavy equipment operation.
• Certifications/Licenses: OSHA 30 preferred, OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, bulldozers, skid steer loaders, trenchers, etc.) used on construction projects.
• Observe utilities and ground markings indicating underground lines and structures.
• Excavate to specified dimensions per drawings, markers, or verbal instructions.
• Perform backfilling and grading to required grades and load materials.
• Drive crew truck and tow trailers to the site.
• Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and checks on equipment.
• Handle other ground maintenance tasks as assigned.
