Job summary

RealREPP seeks a Heavy Civil Construction Manager for a regional, traveling role aligned with the Houston, TX office. This position leads field teams on nationwide heavy civil and industrial projects, overseeing subcontractor coordination, safety, and schedule adherence.

Experience in earthwork, environmental remediation, or habitat restoration is required for serious consideration. Strong contract management and reporting skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of field leadership on construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree is a PLUS, but can be waived with additional years of relevant work experience.
  • Well-versed with contract administration.
  • Experience updating project schedules and creating look aheads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective people management and delegation.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure milestones are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract specs.
  • Onsite coordination of subcontractors.
  • Identify and escalate issues impacting budget and timeline.
  • Hold onsite meetings to provide progress reports.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure accountability to meet milestones.
  • Maintain schedules and allocate labor/equipment resources.
  • Enforce site safety and QC plans.
  • Complete weekly paperwork: timesheets, cost codes, incident reports, equipment, cost summaries.
  • Manage labor productivity and installed cost of work, including hiring/firing.
  • Assist in developing a strategic growth plan for the division.

Job description

The selected Heavy Civil Construction Manager will be a key addition to the team for nationwide heavy civil and industrial projects. This position reports to the Regional Operations Manager, and will collaborate closely with the Project Manager. Prior experience with earthwork, environmental remediation, or habitat restoration is required for serious consideration. Please note, this is a traveling role (regional) aligned with the Houston, TX office location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract specs.
  • Onsite coordination of subcontractors
  • Proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact the established project budget and timeline
  • Holding meetings onsite with key stakeholders and personnel to provide progress reports
  • Delegating tasks effectively and holding others accountable to achieve project milestones
  • Keeping schedules updated ensuring proper allocation of labor and equipment resources
  • Helping to enforce the site safety and QC plans
  • Completion of weekly paperwork to include: time sheets with cost codes, incident reports, owned/rented equipment, job cost/income summary, etc.
  • Managing labor productivity and the installed cost of work to include hiring and firing labor
  • Assisting in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division
