Irving Oil Ltd. in Barre, VT is hiring a Heating Service Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting oil and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and oil tanks.

You will diagnose issues, use proper tools, and perform final inspections to ensure safe operation. This role requires a Propane or natural gas license, knowledge of wiring and plumbing, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Qualifications

• Valid Propane or natural gas license required.
• Wiring and plumbing knowledge required.
• Diploma / Certification or higher.
• Nora Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and oil tanks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems using diagnostics and proper repair tools.
• Provide final inspections to ensure safe operation after repairs.
• Complete daily paperwork for each service call and maintain inventory.
• Be available for rotational on-call evenings and weekends.

Job description

As a Heating Service Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers. Your goal will be to troubleshoot and perform diagnostic activities regarding service equipment within our established policies and procedures. Nora Certification is an assetKnowledge of wiring and plumbing is requiredHeating technician experience considered an assetThe expected hourly range for this position is $25.00-$40.00.
