Role Description

The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician/Installer is a full-time, on-site role located in Bedford, NY. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related components. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. The technician/installer will interact directly with customers, explain findings and recommendations, and provide a professional service experience that supports customer satisfaction and repeat business. The role may also involve assisting with system upgrades, supporting project planning, and coordinating with other team members to meet service schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in troubleshooting HVAC systems, including identifying mechanical, electrical, and airflow issues.
• Hands-on experience with maintenance & repair and preventive maintenance for residential and light commercial heating and cooling equipment.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction, with the ability to communicate clearly, set expectations, and provide courteous on-site service.
• Valid EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants and adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of HVAC tools, test instruments, and best practices for safe installation and service work.
• Ability to work on-site, lift and move equipment as needed, and perform tasks in varying weather and building conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience as an HVAC technician or installer is beneficial; willingness to continue training and stay current with industry standards.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and reliability in meeting scheduled appointments.
