Job summary

Job description

This position offers a $1,500 sign‑on retention bonus. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and basic physical; ability to work full‑time, 40+ hours per week. The role is safety‑sensitive.

Position Summary

Based in Ipswich, MA, the Heat Treater will perform essential job functions under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications and assist other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Assist with operations, control, and monitoring of heat‑treating equipment as required by written procedures.
• Prepare work for processing; load and unload furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Bring any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of supervisor.
• Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
• Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Be responsible for the care and treatment of customer inventory; perform duties safely to prevent loss or damage.
• Report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder (ITAR compliance).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
• Demonstrate ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Stand for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity.
• Have cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range is $20.00 – $30.00 per hour. Position is non‑exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with law. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation including overtime.
