Job summary

ATI is seeking a Heat Treat Operator at our Cudahy, WI manufacturing facility to support production of forged components for aerospace, oil/gas, and defense applications.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating heat-treat furnaces, monitoring process parameters, performing hardness testing, and maintaining accurate production records. Training occurs on first or second shift with permanent placement after successful completion.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension.
• Knowledge of heat-treating practices and procedures.
• Experience with industrial furnaces and components.

Responsibilities

• Prepare furnace loads in accordance with detailed furnace load map.
• Prepare and assemble load thermocouple.
• Load forgings into heat treat furnace and remove from furnace after required heating using manipulators and forklifts.
• Move completed furnace load to appropriate cooling station.
• Set furnace temperature controls to suit type of material and process.
• Monitor furnace operation and performance as required.
• Process forgings through quench and cool operations.
• Generate and update required reports to document process parameters.
• Operate Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment determining the hardness of forgings after heat treatment.
