Job summary

ATI in Cudahy, WI is seeking a Heat Treat Operator to set up, operate, and tend to heat-treat furnaces for forgings across military, aerospace, and other sectors. You will load, heat, quench, and test samples, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.

Training will be conducted on 1st or 2nd shift, with permanency determined after successful completion. Candidates should have basic reading and math skills and a year of relevant transferrable experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
• Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Prepare furnace loads according to load map.
• Assemble and prepare load thermocouple.
• Load forgings into heat treat furnace and remove after heating.
• Move furnace load to cooling station.
• Set furnace temperature controls for material and process.
• Monitor furnace operation and performance.
• Process forgings through quench and cool steps.
• Document process parameters in reports.
• Operate Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment.
• Create move tickets after heat treatment.
