Job summary

ATI is hiring a Heat Treat Operator for its manufacturing facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin. You will set up, operate, and tend heat-treat furnaces to temper, harden, anneal, and process forgings according to customer specifications.

Training will be conducted on 1st or 2nd shift with the permanent shift determined after completion. The role offers opportunity for continued learning, career growth and pay increases upon successful training milestones.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
• Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or associate degree in electrical, mechanical or related curriculum
• Experience with AMS 2750 pyrometry standard
• Experience with hardness testing

Responsibilities

• Prepare furnace loads per furnace load map details.
• Prepare and assemble load thermocouple.
• Load forgings into heat treat furnace and remove after heating using manipulators and forklifts.
• Move finished furnace load to cooling station.
• Set furnace temperature controls to material and process type.
• Monitor furnace operation and performance as required.
• Process forgings through quench and cool operations.
• Work from specifications, charts, and detailed instructions.
• Generate and update reports documenting process parameters.
• Operate Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment to determine hardness after heat treatment.
• Create move tickets after heat treatment processing is complete.
