Job summary

Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg is seeking a Heat Treat Operator Lead for the 2nd or 3rd shift. You will operate heat treating equipment to harden and temper steel parts, ensuring product quality and adherence to procedures.

The role includes supervising newer team members and coordinating lineup moves as needed, in a fast-paced production environment. The position reports to the Heat Treat Supervisor and requires knowledge of IQ Batch Furnace, MTI Level II training completion, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of heat treating processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of IQ Batch Furnace.
• Knowledge of Excel/Word.
• Ability to supervise other employees.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Finish MTI Course on Level II Operator Training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to ensure parts meet specifications.

Job Title: Heat Treat Operator Lead

Reports to: Heat Treat Supervisor

Scope:

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

• Operate heat treating equipment to harden and temper steel parts
• Follow established procedures to ensure the quality of the finished product
• Conduct tests to ensure parts meet specifications
• Monitor equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Supervise and assist newer team members
• Willingness to learn and work in other departments as needed
• Ability to move lineup around in the department if jobs are not ready
• Maintain supervision on operators when loads are being built and pictures are being taken
• MTI Training a PLUS
• Safety Sensitive Position

Work Environment:

The primary work environment is the production floor. Secondary work environment is the office.

• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift.
• Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
• While performing duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Occasion stooping and walking will be required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• KNOWLEDGE OF IQ BATCH FURNACE REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of heat treating processes and equipment
• Knowledge in Excel / Word
• Ability to manage/supervise other employees
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Finish MTI Course on Level II Operator Training
