Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Illinois is seeking a full-time Heat Treat operator to help process parts through our furnaces in a demanding manufacturing environment. You will work in a setting with heat, dirt, grease, oils, fluids, and noise.

You will load and unload parts, inspect for defects, document records, follow work instructions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience helpful.
• Manual dexterity, visual acuity, mental alertness.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts.
• Process quality parts to process specifications.
• Inspect parts visually for foreign material and/or defects.
• Preform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
• Adhere to work instructions and process cards as required per job.
• Maintain a zero-defect mentality and be quality conscious.
• Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
• Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
• Understand and perform to the AAG Quality Policy, taking pride in the products produced.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required or instructed.
• Move, load and unload materials as necessary.
• Deposit scrap items in designated area.
• Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
• Understand and performs ISO 14001 work instructions as identified in, “ISO 14001 Work Instruction Assignments”.
• Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

About The Role
