Acument Global Technologies - North America is seeking a Heat Treat Furnace Operator to operate and maintain our heat-treat furnace and support the production team in hardening and tempering steel fasteners. You will monitor temperature controls, ensure safe operation, and support lot-tracing and quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in heat-treating processes and understanding of temperature controls.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Comfort with reading computer controls and recording data.

Responsibilities

• Maintain furnace controls to meet process requirements.
• Inspect parts before and after heat-treating for conformance.
• Read and record control temperatures, soak times, and cooling times.
• Document nonconforming parts and issue rework or rejection notices.
• Maintain inspection documentation and follow lot-tracing protocols.
• Participate in 5S housekeeping.

Heat Treat Furnace Operator

1st and 2nd shifts available

Wage Rate – $18.64-25.90

The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners

This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable.

About The Role Of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator

• Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the process
• Mechanically inclined, but not required.
• Inspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity
• Read and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained
• Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed
• Maintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocols
• Participate in 5S housekeeping

Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator

• Previous heat treat experience
• Self-motivated; able to work without constant supervision
• Excellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established procedures
• Possesses basic computer skills
• Able to work in a team environment; gets along with others
• Able to read work and understand work instructions, blue prints, technical documents and customer requirements
• Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Able to record information and calculate data as needed
• Able and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and the company
• Able to commit to perfect attendance during the training schedule
• Able to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditions
• Able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check
