Job summary

NTA Precision Axle is seeking a Heat Treat Operator to operate CNC lathes/mills, load and inspect parts, and manage offsets for induction heat treating processes. The role requires attention to detail, ability to read drawings, and comfort with measuring tools in a fast-paced metalworking environment.

The position involves an 8 to 12 hour shift on site in a manufacturing setting, with overtime as needed. Starting wage is $19.00 per hour, with shift differentials of $2.00 (second shift) and $3.00

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to add/subtract decimals accurately.
• Experience in manufacturing with automated or robotic equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and make decisions on part quality and offsets.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe and/or milling machine; load/unload production lines.
• Verify quality with gauges and measurement tools.
• Perform visual inspection and adjust offsets and tooling as needed.
• Record production results and perform daily maintenance; keep work area clean and safe.
• Comply with ISO 16949 & 14001, safety rules, and 5S principles.

Job description

Heat Treat Operator is responsible for operating CNC lathe and/or milling machine. Loads and inspects parts, changes offsets and tooling. Heat Treat Operator position ensures parts are heat treated through an induction heat treat process. Work is performed in a manufacturing setting standing and walking on concrete floors throughout an 8 to 12 hour shift with frequent handling of metal parts weighing 1 to 5 pounds, visual inspection, occasional bending or reaching, use of hand tools, use of up to 50 lbs. of force to move heavy loads on wheels.

Starting Wage: $19.00

We offer a 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour and 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Essential Job Functions

• Machine Operations – Check specs, load/unload production lines.
• Utilize measurement tools such as pre-set gauges to verify quality of production.
• Perform visual inspection of parts.
• Make necessary offsets.
• Change/adjust production tooling.
• Complete forms recording production results.
• Daily preventative maintenance, remove and dispose of chips/shavings, replenish fluids/lubricants,
• Comply with ISO 16949 & 14001 requirements, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas -perform 5S cleaning responsibilities.
• Reads job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; demonstrated ability to add and subtract decimals with high degree of accuracy.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated or robotic equipment
• Must be able to read and interpret piece part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality and offset changes.
• Must have experience in machining and using measuring tools such as drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, fixture related pin gauges.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple production lines, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.
• Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance, work overtime and weekends as needed.
