Job summary

Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is seeking an Experience Management Intern to join the Quality team. You will support the launch of state‑of‑the‑art systems through metallurgical analysis, collaborating with managers, supervisors, technicians, and production staff from project inception to completion.

The position is a full‑time co‑op term through January–August 2027 or May–December 2027, requiring 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant degree with materials or metallurgy emphasis.
• Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
• Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) through a full co-op term running January to August 2027 or May to December 2027.
• The ability to enroll in a formalized co-op Program through your university.
• Dependable, self-motivated and engaged learner.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate X-ray diffractometer, Automated Micro‑hardness tester, and other instrumentation which aid in metallurgical analysis.
• Perform testing on a variety of carbon steels, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys.
• Deliver critical material analysis and inspection results.
• Support Heat Treat Metallurgical Laboratory daily operations.
