Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. is seeking a Heat Treat Material Handler to safely process steel plate in a heavy industrial setting, following all safety rules and SOPs.

This 12-hour rotating shift role requires operating remotely controlled overhead cranes, loading and unloading plate, handling cutting and testing prep, and accurate data entry. Our benefits package starts on day one, including medical, retirement plans, paid vacation, and incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise.
• Ability to accurately enter data into computers without transposing figures.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and technical manuals.
• Ability to think ahead and plan work in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work independently and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Use remotely controlled overhead cranes to stack and unstack steel plate.
• Load and unload steel plate on conveyor systems.
• Load and unload steel plate onto trucks and rail cars.
• Use burning equipment and hand grinders to cut and prepare plate samples for testing.
• Tag and mark steel plate.
• Enter data into computer systems.
• Operate forklift.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the front-line supervisor.
