Job description

Job Title: Heat Treat Furnace Technician

Join us at MetalTek International as a Heat Treat Furnace Technician. This is a full-time, entry-level position in the manufacturing industry, focusing on heat treating processes and furnace maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Inspect and perform surveys and maintenance on heat treat furnaces to ensure safe and efficient operation.
2. Operate casting straightening devices and work in the control room as needed.
3. Inspect furnaces for wear, cracks, and other issues; perform repairs including replacing refractory bricks, pouring refractory floors, and repairing furnace walls and ceilings.
4. Set up survey towers and complete surveys.
5. Operate equipment such as the Stacker Crane, straightening presses, and ring straightening devices.
6. Assist in preparing heat treat loads and transporting materials.
7. Instruct and assist new employees.

Minimum Requirements:

• Heat treating experience and knowledge of materials and heat-treating methods preferred.
• Ability to obtain a forklift operator's license and operate cranes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
