Job summary

Jetson is seeking highly motivated HVAC apprentices to join our mission-driven team in San Jose, California. You will work with experienced installers to remove gas furnaces and install heat pump systems, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-growing, fully electric home electrification company.

The position is full-time and permanent, pays $26.00 to $29.00 per hour, and offers benefits including dental, vision, life insurance, health coverage, education support, parental leave top-up, a 401k

Qualifications

• Completion of (6 - 12 months) of a recognized HVAC program or combination of program work and 1 - 2 years of related equivalent work experience
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification (required)
• Valid (unrestricted) Drivers License
• Hands on experience related to HVAC system install or service preferred
• Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Familiarity with blueprints and schematics
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to learn best practices in a team environment
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
• Experience with modern tools, including AI, to automate and make your day more efficient.
• Follows OSHA Electrical Standard
• Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard

Responsibilities

• Install new heat pump systems alongside experienced Installers
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and replacing filters
• Test HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and building codes when installing or repairing systems
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineering teams on the product and processes
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and questions
