Job summary
Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC is seeking a knowledgeable Skilled Trades Instructor to deliver comprehensive training in heat pump installation as part of the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerators Program. The role emphasizes hands-on instruction, safety, and alignment with industry standards to prepare participants for careers in HVAC trades.
The instructor will develop lesson plans, assess progress, and maintain records while traveling to training sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heat pump installation, HVAC systems, or related skilled trades.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and local building codes related to heat pump installation.
- Prior teaching or training experience, especially in technical or vocational settings, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver hands-on training modules on heat pump installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare instructional materials, including lesson plans, demonstrations, and assessments.
- Assess participant progress and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
- Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to tailor curriculum to meet industry needs and certification requirements.
