Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to support heart failure patients under physician or mid-level supervision. You will educate patients and families, coordinate with the care team, and help translate complex test results into understandable information.

The role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, teamwork, and timely communication to ensure safe, effective care within our hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
• Heart Failure Training and Education must be completed within six months of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a professional patient centered practice image by efficiently performing a wide variety of clinical and/or administrative duties under the direct supervision of a licensed physician or licensed mid-level provider.
• Serves on the care team to assist the physician with outcome-based patient care.
• Educates patients and families regarding heart failure pathology, treatments, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Explains test results and disease-specific information in layman terms for easy patient understanding.
