Job summary

Abbott in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Product Lifecycle Manager) to lead cross-functional teams across Heart Failure products, driving lifecycle strategies from launch to end-of-life and ensuring supply continuity and product optimization.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs to manage geographic expansions, EOL risks, and governance aligned with IBP processes. Strong project leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in the medical devices field is preferred.
• Self-directed, efficient, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex cross-functional teams to drive lifecycle strategy execution.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables with focus on supplier performance and risk mitigation.
• Portfolio Management: manage execution plans for Geographic Expansion and country launches.
• Proactively identify and mitigate End-of-Life (EOL) risks and obsolescence issues.
• Governance & Prioritization: implement project governance aligned with IBP process.
• Process Optimization: standardize project execution methodologies to reduce non-conformance.
• Risk Mitigation: build and maintain risk registers for on-market changes.
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders highlighting risks and milestones.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, set priorities, allocate tasks, and guide staff to meet deliverables and regulatory milestones.
