Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Boise Advanced Heart Failure clinic, supporting Heart Failure surgeons, physicians, and advanced practice providers. The role covers rooming, vitals, med history reviews, EKGs, and chart prep, with opportunities to assist in stress testing and device billing.

A minimum of a High School Diploma is required, with MA certs and BLS certification needed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
• New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
• Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below.
• MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, NPCE MA.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Support fellowship trained Heart Failure surgeons, in addition to other surgeons, cardiologists, APP providers, PAs, and NPs.
• Perform rooming, vitals, chart prep, collecting patient medical history, medication review, and EKGs.
• Proctor Cardiopulmonary stress testing with exercise physiologists.
• Assist with internal devices (cardiomems) billing.
• Complete many prior authorizations primarily for specialty medications and patient calls, and in-basket tasks.
• Be a team player who is self-motivated, driven, and has strong critical thinking skills; develop relationships with physicians and patients.
