Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System's Boise Heart Institute seeks a Cardiac Device Specialist who can be a Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. You will perform device interrogations, testing, and remote downloads, and educate patients on equipment while maintaining accurate documentation.

The role highlights a collaborative clinic environment, access to education modules, and opportunities to support audits and inter-clinic travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a Medical Assistant or have a high school diploma or equivalent with suitable education/experience.
• MA certification from SAHS-approved agencies is required (see list).
• Understanding of EKGs, external and internal cardiac monitors, pacemakers and defibrillators is required.

Responsibilities

• Interrogate and perform device testing of internal cardiac devices per competency guidelines.
• Upload interrogation and device testing reports to the EHR per competency guidelines.
• Monitor and create remote download reports for physicians; review and enter device information into manufacturer sites and EHR systems.
• Complete didactic and competency training at hire and annually; schedule patients for appointments; support audits (FDA, DNV, CMS).
