Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Heart Failure Clinic in Internal Medicine/Cardiology. The APP delivers comprehensive, evidence-based cardiovascular care in outpatient settings, collaborating with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other professionals.

The candidate should have strong clinical judgment and communication skills, with experience in cardiology or heart failure preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant program (ARC-PA accredited).
• Master’s degree or higher in nursing; APRN education and TX nursing authority alignment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations.
• Develops and evaluates patient care plans based on evidence.
• Orders and interprets labs and imaging as appropriate.
• Provides education and counseling to patients and families.
• Supports quality initiatives and clinical research within the department.
• Collaborates with cardiology and multidisciplinary teams.
