Delaware Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a full-time seasonal HEAP Examiner for our Hamden location. Pay range to start at $22.93 per hour, 35 hours per week.

Start dates is tentative at this time.

The ideal candidate must be hard working, reliable, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities include: Set up and ensure staffing at outreach locations, prepare news releases and mass mailing for advertisement, conduct interviews and screen applicants for HEAP, perform computerized data entry, assure accuracy of data entry by HEAP staff, perform general office work as required, work closely with other community agencies, speak to community groups regarding HEAP, maintain in depth and up to date knowledge of HEAP regulations and procedures, assure compliance with rules and regulations, prepare and submit all reports, screen, interview and train staff, maintain knowledge of local programs and assistance.

Skills required are: Valid NYS Driver’s license required. Ability to community both orally and written, organizational skills, ability to read, understand, implement government regulations, rules, procedures and the ability to work as a team and to work independently.

Candidate must have a Associates degree in human services, business management or related field and one year’s experience in human service area; and/or three years’ experience in human services and general office procedures.
