Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Westmoreland County Behavioral Health & Developmental Services seeks a HealthChoices System Navigator (Administrative Assistant 2) to guide individuals and families through access to medical assistance, insurance, housing, and behavioral health services.

You will coordinate with facilities and providers, manage high call volumes and emails, document care coordination, and support data-driven improvements to service delivery.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Assessment Assistance: Compete initial assessments to identify individuals’ and families’ needs and connect them with the appropriate level of support, including higher-level care
• Process Navigation: Explain, advocate, and help people complete all steps to obtain Medical Assistance, insurance, authorizations, housing, and other practical support needed for behavioral health services to be covered and effective
• Resource Coordination: Work directly with facilities, care providers, agencies, and other community partners to monitor capacity and ensure smooth care transitions; follow up to confirm effectiveness
• Communication Management: Handle high call volumes and monitor the general email inbox to ensure timely, accurate responses to all inquiries and assist with scheduling
• Data, Reporting, and Documentation: Use electronic systems to maintain accurate records, manage care coordination, and support data-driven improvements to service delivery and resource allocation
