Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC seeks a Management Engineer to advance workforce analytics and staffing optimization across Duke Health. You will develop models, dashboards, and decision-support tools to improve labor efficiency and inform budgeting and scheduling decisions.

You will partner with nursing, operations, finance, HR, and executive leadership to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations and drive performance improvement within a large healthcare system.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years of related experience; Master's may count for 2 years.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency with SQL and data analysis tools (Tableau or Power BI).
Experience with healthcare operations and workforce planning preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead development, validation, and maintenance of workforce analytics, productivity reporting, and labor management tools.
Develop automated reporting solutions, analytical models, and workforce management tools.
Leverage SQL, data visualization platforms, and analytical software to improve data accessibility and usability.
Design and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and decision-support tools for staffing decisions.
Perform advanced quantitative analyses to identify workforce trends and optimization opportunities.
Translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for leaders.
Support annual budgeting, workforce planning, vacancy management, and labor target development.
