Job summary

UCLA Health seeks a Workers' Compensation Manager to lead the strategy and daily operations of its workers' compensation program. You will guide a dedicated team, partner with hospital leadership and external partners, and drive outcomes that balance compassionate employee support with effective claims management and cost containment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in workers' compensation.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Experience managing a Workers' Compensation program within a large healthcare organization, academic medical center, or integrated health system.
• Extensive knowledge of CA workers' compensation, disability, and workplace accommodations laws, including the interactive process.
• Strong analytical and executive reporting skills using reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.
• Workers' Compensation and Disability Management Certification from DMEC and/or IEA.

Responsibilities

• Guide the strategy and daily operations of the Workers' Compensation program.
• Lead and develop a dedicated team.
• Partner with hospital leadership, Occupational Health, UCOP Risk, and third-party administrators to resolve complex cases, mitigate risk, and continuously improve program performance.
• Balance compassionate employee support with effective claims management and cost containment.
• Support employees navigating workplace injuries and return-to-work initiatives.
