Job summary

Florida Blue Group is seeking a mid-level attorney to provide legal counsel and transactional support across procurement, healthcare operations, technology transactions, and strategic initiatives. With 5-10 years of experience, the role involves handling complex vendor and technology agreements and advising business teams.

The ideal candidate will partner with procurement, privacy, compliance, information security, and operations to mitigate risk and drive practical legal solutions.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
• 5–10 years of professional legal experience.
• Active bar admission; Florida Authorized House Counsel eligibility.
• Experience supporting healthcare, managed care, provider, health solutions.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Experience in procurement, vendor contracting, healthcare and technology transactions.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, risk allocation, and IP in tech transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts to non-attorneys.
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate master services agreements, SOWs, software licenses, SaaS and cloud agreements, data use agreements, and related contracts.
• Support procurement activities and supplier relationships across payer, provider, and health solutions operations.
• Advise on contractual, healthcare regulatory, operational, and legal risks.
• Assist with software, AI, analytics, interoperability, data licensing, cybersecurity transactions.
• Advise on IP ownership, licensing, confidentiality, and third-party materials in commercial deals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and analyses.
• Take on additional legal responsibilities and special projects as needed.
