Overview

To assist Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in providing patient care by performing assigned patient care and unit maintenance activities.

Qualifications

1. License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
2. Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
3. Other Knowledge/Skills: At least one semester of nursing clinical experience; worked as CNA within past 24 months; successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program; relevant medical military training; completion of CNA coursework within past 24 months; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities as delegated by the nurse, utilizing applicable policies and procedures to meet patient needs and expectations.
• Provides hygiene, nutritional, elimination, skin care, comfort, and activity needs of assigned patients.
• Performs measurements and additional skills as directed and supervised by the nurse, after training and certification.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including vital signs, room setup, and patient belongings management.
• Ensures patient satisfaction by providing attentive care, maintaining privacy, and responding promptly to needs.
• Completes documentation accurately and timely, and uses resources efficiently.
• Performs unit maintenance duties to keep the environment safe, clean, and organized.
• Provides for patient safety through proper use of equipment and safety measures.
• Contributes to a positive department environment through teamwork, communication, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
• Supports hospital policies and demonstrates professionalism and respect towards patients, families, and staff.

Compensation and Benefits
