Highmark Health's Summer 2027 Software Engineer enGen Graduate Internship provides graduate students with hands-on experience developing and modernizing enterprise healthcare technology solutions. Embedded within the DCSS application development team, the intern will contribute to application development, API integrations, cloud-enabled solutions, and modernization initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Pursuing a graduate degree (full- or part-time) in an accredited college or university.
Preferred: master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

Develop and test application components within enterprise healthcare technology.
Support APIs and system integrations and participate in modernization efforts.
Contribute to solution design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Collaborate across software engineers, architects, analysts, and product owners in an Agile setup.
Gain exposure to cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and enterprise architecture.
Engage in Agile ceremonies and cross-team collaboration during the software lifecycle.
Translate advanced academic knowledge into practical software solutions for healthcare tech.
