Job summary

Highmark Health is offering the Summer 2027 Software Engineer enGen Graduate Internship to graduate students seeking hands-on experience in enterprise healthcare technology. You’ll work within the DCSS application development team on development, API integrations, cloud-enabled solutions, and modernization initiatives.

You will collaborate with software engineers, architects, business analysts, and product owners through an Agile lifecycle, gaining exposure to modern software engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress.
Pursuing a graduate degree in a relevant field is expected.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and test application components within enterprise healthcare tech.
Support APIs and system integrations and assist modernization efforts.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and product owners.
Learn cloud technologies and DevOps practices through mentorship.
Translate academic knowledge into practical software solutions.
Contribute to the design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Pursuing graduate degree (full or part-time)

Master’s degree in CS/SE/IS/DS or related field (preferred)
