Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Supply Chain Inventory Planner for an entirely on-site role at our Hyde Park location, serving the greater Chicagoland area. The position emphasizes planning, requisitioning, and expediting orders to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels across surgical and procedural areas.

You'll apply lean principles to manage stock, analyze usage and costs, and coordinate with Nursing, OR, and Clinical Labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• High adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, requisition, expedite orders, and manage inventory for assigned areas.
• Monitor high-dollar items and tracking of tissue and implants where applicable.
• Forecast, analyze costs, procure, track replenishment, and bill for implantable items.
• Analyze inventory levels and prevent stock-outs; coordinate with nursing, OR, and labs.
• Collaborate with vendors and Supply Chain Sourcing to update supplier scorecards.
• Maintain accurate par level analysis and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support lean processes and participate in continuous improvement activities.
