MHP Structural Engineers in Long Beach is seeking a Structural Project Engineer (level 1–3) with strong healthcare project experience to join our team. This role targets a licensed California P.E. actively pursuing the S.E.

licensure and progressing toward a Project Management position. We deliver structural solutions for healthcare campuses, K-12, higher education, and critical infrastructure, offering ownership of meaningful projects from design through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structural) or Structural Engineering.
• California P.E. license required; active pursuit of California S.E. licensure encouraged.
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong experience with healthcare (HCAI) projects.
• Proficiency in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design.
• Solid knowledge of CBC (A-chapters) and ASCE 7-22.
• Interest in pursuing California S.E. licensure is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural design for healthcare projects and upgrades.
• Manage projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support proposal development and client discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Progress toward Project Manager role.
