Job summary

Southern Utah Veterans Home is seeking a Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator to join the leadership support team in Ivins, UT. This full-time role focuses on creating schedules, coordinating call-ins, reducing overtime, and supporting recruitment and payroll activities.

The position requires strong computer and communication skills and experience with scheduling and payroll systems, with opportunities to contribute across all shifts in a compassionate healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using online scheduling software and workforce management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build teams and communicate in a challenging environment.
• Emotional intelligence, integrity, and ability to manage employee information confidentially.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and manage employee schedules.
• Coordinate coverage for call-ins and staffing shortages.
• Maintain staffing patterns and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Utilize scheduling software and online scheduling systems.
• Review timecards, attendance records, and payroll-related information.
• Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping corrections.
• Monitor overtime and implement strategies to reduce premium pay.
• Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and department leaders.
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and staffing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate staffing and scheduling records.
• Support employee engagement across all shifts, including evenings and nights.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff.
