Job summary

Rockwell Care in Yucca Valley is seeking a Director of Staff Development to lead the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of employee education and training programs. The role ensures staff competency, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development while fostering excellence in patient care and staff engagement.

Qualifications

• Current LVN or RN license in good standing.
• 2–5 years of staff development/education or clinical leadership experience.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee Staff Development and Education Program.
• Plan orientation for new employees.
• Coordinate annual mandatory education and competency assessments.
• Ensure CMS, state regulations, OSHA compliance.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Deliver in-service education and improve clinical competency.
• Collaborate with department managers to improve staff performance.
