Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Sourcing & Value Analysis professional to develop and execute sourcing strategies for designated spend categories. You will manage vendor relations, lead RFP/RFQ processes, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize cost and quality of care.

You will review terms, negotiate contracts, and monitor savings while partnering with the Value Analysis Committee and ERP systems to ensure compliant and efficient procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree with at least two years of equivalent professional experience.
• Stellar negotiation skills to pursue cost savings discussions with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills demonstrating ability to share cost benefit analysis, scenario-based savings options, benchmarking, among other decision points.
• Critical thinking to interpret qualitative and quantitative impacts of potential purchase activity.
• Experience with project management processes and ability to initiate and complete projects.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
• Independent and self-motivated.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages the relationship with primary vendors in designated categories.
• Leverages the relationship with GPO to secure best-tier pricing.
• Negotiate independent local contracts beyond GPO where value is added.
• Develops and maintains a contracting/bidding calendar.
• Manages RFP/RFQ processes at contract expirations by category.
• Reviews and negotiates terms to protect hospital interests.
• Manages executed contracts and pricing in ERP.
• Liaises between hospital administration and clinical staff for cost-effective utilization.
• Monitors estimated and actual savings from sourcing activities.
• Leads Value Analysis Committee meetings coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Coordinates product training for new implementations.
• Participates in hospital committees representing administration.
• Leverages third party analytics to enhance negotiating ability.
