Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Security Officer to help create a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff at our Indianapolis facilities. The role focuses on incident response, asset protection and assisting in day-to-day hospital operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, Indiana driver’s license, and the ability to follow Use of Force guidelines. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and strong situational awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Current Indiana Driver’s License required.
• One year of security experience in a healthcare or related setting preferred.
• Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year from hire.
• Ability to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de-escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrest.
• Assists Law Enforcement.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide an overall environment of safety and security for the patient delivery system.
• Support hospital operations and render service as needed.
• Maintain incident management and protect patient valuables and assets.
• Establish an active security presence with surveillance, escorts, couriers, and inspections.
• Respond to designated Community Health Network locations as required.
