Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Public Safety Officer in Elmhurst, IL. The position is full-time (40 hours) with day shifts from 6am to 6pm, including Wednesday 12pm–6pm and Thursday–Saturday 6am–6pm.

The role involves unarmed security, patrols, incident reporting, crowd control, and escort duties to patients and visitors. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, customer-service experience, and either experience in security or related fields, plus required licenses and CPR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Two years of experience in law enforcement, military, or private security preferred.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology.

Responsibilities

• Provides unarmed uniformed security/safety related services under supervision.
• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds and investigates unusual occurrences.
• Reports incidents or loss of hospital, employee, patient or visitor property and involves police if necessary.
• Responds to service calls in a timely, safe, professional and courteous manner.
• Directs customers and provides directions to patients and visitors to hospital locations.
• Directs vehicle traffic and issues parking citations as needed.
• Physically restrains unruly individuals and involves police when necessary.
• Administers control systems to protect valuables and monitor lost and found items.
• Inspects doors, windows, alarms, and safety equipment and notifies maintenance as needed.
• Investigates thefts, accidents and other incidents and prepares documentation.
