Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer to provide vigilant security across the campus with a professional, compassionate approach. The role emphasizes adherence to safety policies and customer service.

You will perform patrols, respond to emergencies, de-escalate incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid unarmed guard license within 1 year, Stop the Bleed within 1 year, CHSO within 2 years, and a driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in security/public safety or customer service with emergent situations.
• Ability to follow policies, reports, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with a customer-service approach, focusing on professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor to inspire confidence in patients, visitors, and staff.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire risks; audit life safety measures.
• Assist with traffic and crowd control; respond to emergencies and crises.
• De-escalate conflicts; use force only as necessary per training (CEW, handcuffing).
• Investigate incidents and prepare timely reports; escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders to ensure policy compliance.
