Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Safety & Security Officer to ensure the safety of patients, caregivers, and the public. The role requires a high school diploma, a CHSO certification within 12 months, and a valid driver’s license.

The officer will perform patrols, assist patients and visitors, manage access, and respond to emergencies while maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain CHSO within 12 months of employment and maintain it.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required.
• Familiar with City of Farmington or ability to navigate using maps.
• Basic computer and mobile device skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service with professionalism under stress.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties such as mail/courier runs, escorts, patrols, directions, patient/visitor assistance, visitor control, and securing facilities and valuables.
• Respond to alarms and drills for disaster, bomb threats, codes, disturbances, etc.
• Complete all daily tasks for Safety & Security.
• Participate in investigations of incidents or accidents.
• Engage in proactive patrols to identify unsafe acts or conditions.
• Enforce policies and report violations.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
• Assist in orientation of new caregivers in the department.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
